Cute Octopus Free Crochet Pattern


You will need: 

Cotton yarn/thread nº4  in the colors of your choice

2.5mm crochet hook

Tapestry needle to sew in the ends 


Abbreviations: 

mc – Magic Circle

sc – Single Crochet

dc - Double Crochet

ch – Chain

slst – Slip Stitch

inc – Increase (2 stitches in the same stitch)

dec - Decrease (turn 2 stiches into 1)

BLO - Back Loop Only

f.o - Fasten Off 


Pattern:

The pattern will be worked in continuous rounds unless told otherwise.

Finished product is about 15cm

Body:

Round 1 - mc of 6 (6)

Round 2 - inc in every stitch (12)

Round 3 - *inc, 1sc* x6 (18)

Round 4 - *inc, 2sc* x6 (24)

Round 5 - *inc, 3sc* x6 (30)

Round 6 - *inc, 4sc* x6 (36)

Round 7 - *inc, 5sc* x6 (42)

Round 8-18 - sc in every stitch (42) 10 rounds

Round 19 - *dec, 5sc* x6 (36)

Round 20-21 - sc in every stitch (36) 2 rounds

Round 22 - *dec, 4sc* x6 (30) 

Round 23-24 - sc in every stitch (30) 2 rounds

Round 25 - *dec, 3sc* x6 (24)

Round 26-27 - sc in every stitch (24) 2 rounds

Round 28 - *dec, 2sc* x6 (18)

Round 29-30 - sc in every stitch (18) 2 rounds

Round 31 - *dec, 1sc* x6 (12)

Round 32 - dec x6

Skirt:

SC Foundation of 14sc

Join in the round in the first stitch, chain 2, 3dc in the same stitch, *slst in the next stitch, 4dc in the next stitch* repeat until the end of the foundation. f.o

Slip the skirt from the bottom and sew in place.

Tentacles:

Join the yarn bellow the skirt, chain 30, turn and sc 2 in each stitch, slst into the body and f.o

Hat:

Round 1 - mc of 6 (6)

Round 2 - inc in every stitch (12)

Round 3 - BLO sc in every st (12)

Round 4-6 - sc in every st (12) 3 rounds

Round 7 - 2dc in each st (24)

Bow:

Make a magic circle and chain 3, 4dc into the circle, chain 2, slst into the circle, chain 2, 4dc into the circle, chain 3, slst into the circle, f.o.


Sew the hat in the center of the head or tilted to the side like I did. Attach the bow tightly so it doesn't move or twist. Embroider the eyes or cut out some out of felt and you're done!
